Proverb Unscramble Ordering Task

This is an interactive reading assessment for upper elementary or middle school ELLs. It is a formal assessment that could be either formative or summative, although most commonly formative because of the students ability to take the test multiple times. It is an online test and therefore very practical because the computer generates the scores and questions. The content of the test is focused on unscrambling proverbs. Proverbs have only one correct order which means the test is reliable because there is only one correct answer for each blank. However, some ELLS may not be familiar with proverbs, therefore it would not be authentic or reliable for them and it would need to be adapted so that it actually tests their reading knowledge rather than their knowledge of proverbs.
