Comma Test

This is a perceptive reading assessment for secondary education ELL students. This is a formal formative test. This test is formal because it is a test that requires students to get the formal feedback of a grade instead of only receiving the informal comments and feedback from the teacher. The test is formative because it does not include all the components of punctuation. The reason this test involves perceptive reading is because the students are expected to know where to place the punctuation. In the same way students need to know how to read and understand graphemes, the students need to know how to properly use commas as well. This test is practical because it is easy to grade, and also reliable because the students will not have varying answers. There is only one correct answer and incorrect answer. The test is also authentic because the sentences involve every day life situations such as activities at home or outside of school (SH).
